Hi Guys! I’ve always believed that you don’t have to overspend to look good. Fashion is suppose to be fun and creative at any price point you may come across. Most importantly our budgets shouldn’t limit how we dress ourselves. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not opposed to buying designer but being on 24 year old and living on my own in a city like Los Angeles sometimes it limits my shopping experience. I have to be smart about what I spend my money on. I am sure many of you feel the same way, so I’m here to show you that it’s actually very easy to look top notch on a budget. One of my favorite things to do is mix match designers pieces here and there with my outfits. Most of my outfits are very affordable. It’s all about balancing! Here are few tips that will leave you feeling and looking like a million bucks!
Adding a Designer pair of shoes or bag to your outfit!
I’m constantly traveling back and forth from Las Vegas to Los Angeles and during those time I usually go to a few events, parties, and dinners. Being on a budget makes it so hard to constantly buy new things. well, you don’t always have to buy new items. I can’t tell you how many times people have complimented me on my outfit, and often times is just simple dress from Forever 21 with a designer bag and great pair of shoes. They almost always never believe I got my dress for 20$!
Choosing the right jewelry almost always adds that little touch to an outfit ,that makes it pop. It can turn a boring outfit into a glamorous and chic one. You can be wearing a LBD (little black dress) and all you have to do is add a sparkling diamond necklace to make it a little more over the top or if you want to keep it simple add a pair of gold hoop earrings, that will do the trick. Be creative!
Hair and Make Up
Hair and makeup are very important when getting ready. They can totally set the tone for your outfit. One of my favorite things to do is to look at the latest fashion runway shows for inspiration on make up and hair-dos. Another way to find trendy hair and makeup is by following your favorite celebrity or influencer. Two of my go to looks are the classic part to the side with red lips stick or slick back pony tail with winged eyeliner.
Adding a Jacket
Now that it’s basically fall/ winter, jackets are a MUST. Why not be comfortable and warm while still looking fabulous. Some of my favorite jackets to add to my night time attire is my faux fur cheetah jacket (you can never go wrong with cheetah) or a over-sized blazer to get the more classy look. My mom always said, “It’s better to be over dressed then under dressed”, that has stuck with me my whole life, and I will continue to live by it for the rest of my life.
I hope these tips can help you understand that not having the budget to buy expensive things doesn’t mean you can’t feel or look like a million bucks. I challenge you to show me your best top notch outfit with the tips I’ve given you. Post a picture and tag #TypicalTopNotch! I can’t wait to see them!
