If you’ve got it, Haunt it
So, yesterday I finally was able to go to a pumpkin patch, thanks to my good friend Jedd! Better late than never right? it was a crazy busy day but wait ‘till you read what happened!!!
First let me tell you how much I love this holiday! Halloween is one of my favorite! I always love to come up with fun and different costumes. This year I decided I wanted to dress up as Tina Belcher from Bob’s Burger. For some of you that don’t know who she is, she is a cartoon on TV show, the oldest child of Bob’s Burgers and it’s absolutely hilarious. All the characters have such different personalities and they are so witty, I couldn’t tell you which one I like the most. At my work, we have a costume contest every year but unfortunately this year we didn’t have one so I was a little sad about it! We had a pumpkin carving contest instead so my co workers and I decided to dress up anyway. They know how much I love Bob’s Burger so they ended up joining me in dressing up like the characters from my favorite show, one was Louise (Tina’s sister) and the other was Linda (the mom).
Now let me tell you the ordeal I went through to get this costume right… oh my God last night was such an adventure! So, originally I ordered my costume from Amazon two weeks ahead of time because I wanted to make sure it would arrive on time for Halloween. I had to go back to Vegas for a family event so I wasn’t home when my package arrived on Saturday in LA. When I picked it up on Monday, I realized they had sent me the wrong costume…. They sent me Linda’s outfit!!! I totally freaked out! It was 5 pm on a Monday night and I needed this for 7 am next day. I originally had plans with my friend Jedd to go to a pumpkin patch and get a bite to eat. I was so exhausted from waking up at 4:30 am to go to the airport and catch my flight back to LA and being the whole day at work. But, I was determine to do it all and find my costume. So the hunt for my costume began with several calls to every store in town that might have the right costume. We must have called 15 Halloween store, Wal-Mart’s, and Targets. You name it, we called it! We literally had 5 hours until everything closed. We were on a mission! I can’t thank my friend Jedd enough for running around LA with me in the RAIN. Yes! it started to rain! The Tina costume was sold out everywhere… I had to be creative and come up with a plan B. I was about to loose it when my co worker came through! “I have a blue skirt that looked identical to the one Tina wears in the show” she said, and in my size!!! I saw the light at the end of the tunnel! Now I needed to put together the rest of the outfit. I found a light blue T-shirt in the little boys section in target and then my sister help me cut a black wig I got into a bob with bangs. I’m so thankful I got the glasses and socks when I was home because I would have been royally screwed without it! But life is all about adapting! right? At the end everything always works out for the best!
In the end I’m so glad everything worked out! OMG we all looked so good! I’ve added images below so you guys can see how we looked with our costumes and I’m linking where my outfit for the pumpkin patch is from as well!
