Usually the best moments in life are unexpected. I went to the “Life is Beautiful” festival this past weekend! For those who don’t know about this, it’s a 3 day music festival at Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. This was my first time going to L.I.B. and I have to say everything was so alluring and unique… the music, the art, the buildings, and the food. They basically shut down all the streets of downtown and decorate the buildings, add murals, and art! They created rides, and fun little pop up booths which gave it the perfect feel. It was like stepping into another world. They embraced everyone! Everyone was there to enjoy good music, food, and to have an amazing time. I love going places where no one is judged and you can just be yourself and have a great time.
I went to this festival with my sisters, my best friend from LA, and my childhood friends. It was honestly the best group I could ask for. It’s comforting to know that I can be myself, let loose, and not have to worry about a thing. As soon as you walked in, they had the kindest people handing out hugs and balloons. I love balloon so of course I grabbed one. My friends and I decided to make a wish and let them go together… So inspiring!
As the day went on, we explored the art exhibits and street art they had displaying through out the festival. Every piece they showed had meaning behind it… It truly reminded me that life is really beautiful.
Personally when it comes to music I have such an diverse taste. I can go from classical to alternative to EDM to R&B. Music is so important because not only can people relate to it, it gives them a sense of belonging, or it can be an escape for some. L.I.B. had such a wide variety of musicians and performers. I love that they didn’t have a set genre for there music choices. I was be able to see artists like Jimmy Eat World, Kehlani, and Duke Dumont.
I was only able to go Friday and Sunday but my favorite part of the festival had to be seeing Duke Dumont on Sunday! Everything about there performance was unforgettable, especially hearing my favorite song “Ocean Drive” at the end of their set. The vibe was incredible more so because I got to be there with the people I love the most, It was truly the best ending to the perfect weekend.
